Abstract
In order to improve quality and relevance of behaviour analytic research, two recommendations are provided in this talk. These two recommendations will tie stronger bonds between behaviour analysis and other scientific fields, and behaviour analytic research will be more visible and will be acknowledged to a greater extent. The recommendations will improve applications for funding from external sources. Advice 1: Increase the use of experimental design and inferential statistics. Experimental designs generate more information than simpler designs, and will aid in advancing research. Use of inferential statistics will make the results from the studies conclusive. Advice 2: More use of neurobiological methods and theory. This will provide knowledge about the mechanisms that underlie behaviour, and strengthen theory in the field.
