Abstract
The symposium discusses behaviorism, the philosophy of science, that constitutes the foundation of behavior analysis as a scientific discipline. How can a reflection upon conceptual frameworks such as truth criterions, existential assumptions, and the aims of science improve behavioral research practice? Does the current relation between conceptual, applied and basic research allow for maximal efficacy? What is behavioral science supposed to achieve and how are those goals justified? Epistemological and ontological arguments for the choice of units of analysis are deliberated. The symposium takes its audience on a journey of reflection upon the conceptual grounds of behavior analytic research practice.
The symposium will be held in English.
